Love it! Would definitely recommend.

The short version is that I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend it. The longer version and some nitpicking is below. For reference, I am 5'5" and have an 18" torso length.

I have an ENO Lounger DL which I use when weight doesn't matter. It's great to throw in a car for a swim meet or baseball game. I like it on river trips for sitting in sand and can collapse the legs to sit lower or compensate for a sloping beach. It’s comfortable and has some extra features, but it’s bulky and heavy. On the other end of the spectrum is my Therm-a-Rest Trekker chair kit. I can double over the end of my pad to create a somewhat taller back. If I lay my head back fully it’ll support my head in a position looking up at the sky. Otherwise, it mostly supports up to my shoulders. If I’m not willing to carry much extra weight for a chair, this is my minimalist option.

Enter the Get Out Gear TrekChair V2! I was interested in this chair since I already hike with poles. Having a high back chair that sits higher off the ground than a pad chair and has adjustable height for 22.7 oz is fantastic. I also use my poles for my Tarptent, but I’m thinking I can move them from one to the other relatively easily because I don’t need both at the same time. Otherwise I have a support pole just for the tent I can bring.

My titanium hiking poles have positive angle handles and are twist lock, so they won’t work with the chair. The Goat Stix Trekking Poles are surprisingly a little lighter than my Leki poles. They come with a storage/carry bag, rubber tips, trekking baskets, and clips to hold the pair together. When hiking or backpacking I would likely leave most of that at home, but it’s nice to have for storing everything together. I needed to break the poles down into four sections to fit in my carry-on bag because otherwise they are 25 ¼ inches at their shortest. They were just slightly too long to fit diagonally in my bag. I don’t normally use the trekking baskets, but if I did it might get annoying taking them off every time I want to use the chair. These are my first flip lock poles. The main downside I experienced is they loosen once you open them, so when you relock them they aren’t always tight enough and you have to readjust them.

The bag that the chair comes in fits the contents easily and there is no fighting to get it to fit back in. My only gripe about the bag is the plastic, clamshell termination clamp for the pullcord comes off easily. I was able to get it back on, but it took some time and seems like it will easily happen again. I’ve dealt with clamps like this on other things and have had similar problems.

I think I may have overdone it when I was trying to get the chair as tall as possible because now there is a little tear in the mesh where it meets the upper fabric. The pictures are with the poles at 115 on the upper section. As recommended, I adjusted the height with the upper pole section only. I think 110 would be more than sufficient. I probably went even taller which created the hole once I weighted the chair. This chair is similar in size to the ENO chair, but at almost 3.5 times less weight! It will be my go-to chair for all my adventures when weight and comfort matters!

backpacking chair

I love this chair for back packing, having a chair that supports your head and lets you relax after hiking and not breaking your back.

Great chair! Not small like most hiking chairs. High back and stable. Super light at 1.4 pounds and folds up small enough to put in my backpack and camp with it. Carbon trekking poles are very light and strong. Using them in two weeks for a 3 day hike. Can't wait!

I may amend this later, but, initially, I'm somewhat satisfied with this product. It formed a stretch tear in it within the first few days of use. That's disappointing but easily repaired. It's nice that it has a high back. It's relatively easy to relax in. It's very light.

Phenomenal

Bought this chair for an adventurous mother that loves hiking. She loved the quality of the hiking sticks as well as having the capability to pitch a chair at any of her favorite spots.
Biggest complaint… had to get two so no one feels left out if they wanted to relax and enjoy having hiking sticks and a chair on a long hike.
